Chapter: 1454
"To be honest, I didn't intend to give birth to you. If I hadn't, things wouldn't have been so difficult for me and Horace. Just forgive Brady since you ought to repay my kindness of giving birth to you, as well as repaying me for what Osiris did to me.

Sabrina was astounded at how shameless Rita could be.

“Keep dreaming. You gave birth to me and abandoned me. I don't owe you anything. If nothing else, you owe me."

“Sabrina, you are a little emotional now, so you will easily make the wrong choice. I suggest you go back and think about it carefully."

After a pause, Rita continued, "I heard that it was Tyrone who helped you solve the problem last time when the Garrett family came and threatened you. If the Fowler family intervenes this time, will he still be able to help you? What chance does he stand against the Fowler family and the Garrett family? Will he always go to extreme lengths to solve your problems for you?"

It was getting warmer in April, but it was still so cold at night.

When Sabrina walked out of the restaurant, she tidied up her coat and went down the stairs. She stared ahead blankly, motionless.

The driver stopped the car on the side of the road. After a few seconds of just watching Sabrina standing so still, the driver concluded that she didn't see the car and flashed the taillights.

When Sabrina still didn't move, the driver lowered the window and shouted, “Miss Chavez, why don't you get in the car?"

Sabrina blinked and regained awareness of her surroundings. She looked toward the car and slowly walked over. Once she was in the car, she told the driver in a hoarse voice, "Drive me to... The bank of the river."

The driver was stunned. He glanced at Sabrina in the rearview mirror and saw that her eyes were red. His lips thinned and he said, "Miss Chavez, it's cold by the river now. Is there anything bothering you?"

When Sabrina didn't respond, he had no choice but to start the car and drive toward the river bank.

The dim lights on the side of the road shone on Sabrina's face.

Sabrina leaned against the backseat and stared at the passing scenery blankly. Her heart was heavy, and she didn't want to speak at all.

The rumors in the village were dredged up from the deepest recesses of her memory and replayed in her mind again and again.

As it turned out, they were right. She was not Connor's biological child. She was a bastard who was despised by everyone.

There was a sudden lump in her throat, and her eyes welled up with tears as she recalled something.

The shrill whistles, deafening collision, the car with the whole front sunk, and blazing flames...

That night was vivid in Sabrina's mind, so much so that she could see and smell the fire.

It seemed she had been transported to the night of the car accident that claimed Connor's life.
