Chapter: 1564
Watching her cry now was preferable to seeing her be in danger.
He prayed she'd be alright.
As Sabrina exited the Blakely Group building, a gust of wind swept by.
Stopping on the steps, Sabrina cast her empty eyes ahead. Tears clouded her eyes, and the pain in her heart threatened to kill her.
Realization dawned that Tyrone's affections had always been reserved for Galilea. His recent gestures were an elaborate facade. Only her feelings were sincere.
Summoning courage, she dropped her guard and ambled toward him with open-hearted sincerity. Yet, in the end, he stabbed her in the back.
Could it be any more ludicrous? She was duped once more by Tyrone, even though she once vowed never to trust him again... She must be the most foolish soul having been deceived twice by the same person!
She was desperate to leave here, to erase Tyrone entirely from her life.
Sabrina trod forward absentmindedly, hailing a taxi.
“Miss, are you alright? Where are you going?"
When the driver noticed that Sabrina was sobbing quietly and remained silent, he gave her a pitying glance and called her again, “Miss?”
“The riverside, please," Sabrina murmured.
Surprised, the driver advised, "Miss, you've probably heard and know this. Hardships do come. You just need to stay positive. And look at you, you're way too young..."
"I'm not contemplating self-harm. Just seeking a moment of respite."
"Okay... Well... I'm sorry, miss... The riverside, of course."
Sabrina sat on the steps beside the fence, her gaze fixed on the sparkling river. Her mind drifted while tears streamed down her face, uncontrolled.
The blow from Tyrone was unexpected and devastating, leaving her heart in pieces.
Sabrina had never imagined things would turn out this way. It was laughable, really. His kindness had been nothing but the effort he made for a bet.
Tyrone had never cared for her. Not when she first arrived at the Blakely family's villa, not when they married. Why did she think he would care for her now? It was all her delusion. She had longed for his affection which was never meant to be hers. She flattered herself.
How could Tyrone ever care for her?
