Chapter: 1626
“Actually what?" William inquired, prompting Evan to elaborate.
"I saw Sabrina take the necklace from Keilani's purse, Evan calmly stated.
"Really?" William questioned.
“That's nonsense!" Sabrina was shocked by Evan's accusation.
Their voices echoed at the same time.
Sabrina, caught off guard, stared at Evan in a mixture of shock and anger. "I have no issues with you. Why would you falsely accuse me?"
“Sabrina, do not argue any longer. I witnessed you taking the necklace. I hold no grudge against you, so there's no reason for me to slander you. I just want everyone to know the truth." Evan maintained with a composed demeanor.
A hint of triumph glinted in Keilani's eyes as Evan made his statement. "I want my necklace back!"
William, wearing an unhappy frown, addressed Sabrina sternly, "Sabrina, return the necklace to Keilani and apologize. Then, we can put an end to this."
William trusted Evan. After all, Evan enjoyed years of service at the studio and seemingly no personal conflict with Sabrina. William didn't think Evan would lie, which only added weight to Keilani's accusations.
Liliana sighed, choosing not to intervene.
Sabrina, however, snorted with derision. "How can I give it back if I didn't steal the necklace? And I don't understand why Evan would perjure himself."
“With a witness here, you still deny the truth?" scolded William. The unexpected revelation of theft and dishonesty from a newly employed photographer disappointed him.
“William, someone as dishonest as her should be fired immediately,"
Keilani asserted fiercely.
Keilani had contemplated persuading William not to hire Sabrina from the start but refrained from doing so with the idea that tarnishing Sabrina's reputation would be more effective than a mere refusal.
Now, with the accusation of theft, Sabrina faced not only potential unemployment but also a damaged professional reputation.
"I swear I didn't steal it. I won't admit to something I didn't do.
William, please give me a chance to prove my innocence. I want to confront Evan about this. If I'm found guilty of stealing the necklace, I'll resign. I picked Saleel Studio because I genuinely have faith in this studio," Sabrina calmly stated.
Sabrina then directed her gaze toward Evan, emphasizing, “If my conviction relies solely on a ridiculous testimony, I'll regret my choice. Saleel Studio doesn't deserve such pure faith from me."
