Chapter: 1785
Lance turned his head and walked toward Keilani. “What happened to you?" he inquired, furrowing his brow after noticing her disheveled appearance.

“I was beaten. You must avenge me!" Keilani complained tearfully.

Lance arched an eyebrow and glanced at Alice, who appeared unscathed, with flawless makeup and immaculate attire.

Alice's heart skipped a beat, and she smiled as she spoke. “Lance, not only did they assault Keilani, but they also damaged her car. I had to intervene and drive them away. Unfortunately, the car door was jammed, and I couldn't get out in time to prevent them from slapping Keilani."

Hearing Alice's explanation, Lance, aware of Keilani's tendencies, questioned, "Why would someone hit you without a reason? You must have caused trouble again, right?"

"Hey! How can you say that and defend an outsider? You're my brother.

What are you talking about?" Keilani retorted furiously. "I've never been beaten like this. No one had ever dared lay a finger on me."

"That's why you're so spoiled!"

Lance walked out with his suitcase and glanced at Keilani, saying, “Back in Philade, everyone yielded to you because of our father's influence. In Mathias, there's no family support, and no one will make allowances for you, not even for this small matter. Can't you handle it?"

"But... You're acting as though you aren't even my brother?"

"Who hit you?"

Keilani hastened her steps to keep up with his pace. "It was Sabrina and her friend."

Lance frowned. Sabrina and her friend? Was it Bettie or Aylin?

Lance lowered his gaze. With a serious expression, he asked in a subdued voice, “Tell me what happened.”

Keilani wouldn't tell Lance the truth. "I had told you they stole my watch in Linbourne. Two days ago, I ran into Sabrina's friend at a mall. She made fun of me, and it made me so mad. Seeing them today, I just wanted to scare them a bit. But can you believe it? They wrecked my car and pinned me down to hit me!"

Lance frowned and asked, “Why would you want to scare them?"

At the mention of Linbourne, Lance immediately knew Sabrina's friend referred to Bettie. Even though he hadn't returned at that time, he'd been keeping tabs on Bettie's Twitter. He'd regularly scroll through it and was aware that Bettie had gone to Linbourne with Sabrina.

Lance knew Bettie wouldn't endure grievance without speaking for herself or ridicule others without cause. There must be something wrong. Moreover, he suspected Keilani had once again downplayed the harm she did to others while exaggerating what others did to her.

One tended to downplay the wrongdoings they had ever done. Keilani once ordered to break someone's leg, but she claimed that person was only slightly injured.

Seeing Lance's indifferent expression, Keilani couldn't wrap her head around it. "Even if I scared them, they didn't lose anything. They could smash my car and attack me because of this, couldn't they? Why do you always defend them? Why?"
