Chapter: 2049
Lance hinted that Conway had overcharged him.

Corless thanked Lance and offered to make it right.

Lance declined but Corless persisted, so Lance had to ask Corless to transfer the money to Bettie.

Corless grew more and more pleased with Lance.

A few days later, at a dinner party, the Nick Food Factory representative agreed, saying their GM approved further collaboration.

Corless was thrilled. That night, he invited Lance and Bettie to his place for dinner.

Before the meal, while chatting with Bettie, Amirah brought up their honeymoon plans. "Have you wrapped up your concert work? When's the big trip?"

Bettie shrugged. “Lance has been swamped lately. We're thinking next spring."

"Got it."

To keep their secret safe, Bettie seized a chance to tell Lance, "If my mom asks, just say you're tied up. I told her we're honeymooning next spring."

Lance nodded. "Got it."

Sure enough, Amirah grilled Lance about work during dinner.

"I'm snowed under at the moment because I have a new project on my plate. I doubt we can make it," Lance replied.

Bettie shot him a satisfied glance.

Then, Lance added, “I am heading to Hailand for a week for business tomorrow, fieldwork."

Bettie had a makeup gig and Lance had business to attend to. Their honeymoon plans seemed distant. Amirah wasn't pleased. After a moment's thought, she suggested, "Why not take Bettie along?"

Lance responded, “I suggested it but she declined."

Bettie was left speechless. She gave him a hard pinch under the table. He never told her about this.

Amirah glanced at Bettie and queried, "Bettie, you've got no plans lately. Why not tag along with him?"

Usually, newlyweds tended to stick together.
