Upon reaching the hotel, Lance showed no intention of returning to his room. Instead, he trailed after Bettie.

Bettie bit her lip, feeling a sudden rush of nerves overcome her.

Was he thinking of...

She opened the door with a calm facade, making her way to the kitchen. "Have a seat. I'll fetch you some water."

"Wait!" Lance seized her wrist.

Before Bettie could react, he had already pushed her against the door, planting a kiss on her lips.

Another kiss... Bettie thought, bewildered.

His hands slid to her waist, tugging at the hem of her short skirt and slipping inside.

Bettie shivered and halted his hand. "I... Let me take a shower.."

With that, she dashed to the bathroom without Looking back.

Watching her retreating figure, Lance grinned and sauntered in, scanning the living room. His gaze landed on the dainty gift box on the table. He approached and peeked inside before heading back to his room. The box contained a set of playful and risqué sex products, themed around rabbits and carrots.

Bettie lingered in the bathroom before finally turning off the shower.

As she dried herself with a towel, she realized she had forgotten her underwear and pajamas.

Luckily, there was a hotel-issued bathrobe in the bathroom. She slipped into the bathrobe and cinched the belt around her waist.

Without any underwear, Bettie felt odd. But she couldn't ask Lance to bring it to her. Forget it. Even if she wore it, she'd have to take it off later. And Lance had seen her naked before.

Bettie emerged from the bathroom. She noticed Lance had changed into pajamas. His hair was damp as if he'd just showered. He lounged on the couch, toying with something orange.

Suddenly, it dawned on Bettie. She glanced at the open gift box on the table. Taken aback, she forced a smile. How could she have forgotten it?
