Chapter: 2071
"I thought you knew," Tyrone replied, pretending to be innocent. “I was just as surprised as you when I found out Bettie was going to marry Lance. But as you know, I'm not one to spread rumors."
Sabrina hesitated, then questioned, "But when Jennie asked you if her uncle resembled Bettie's husband, you must have realized that I didn't know, right? "
"Yes." Tyrone nodded. "That's why, when I got home, I called Lance and made a deal with him."
"You're really cunning. What's the deal?"
"I'll keep the secret for him until he returns from his business trip. He made me a promise."
“Can you finish your words now?"
"He assured me that he would limit Keilani's access." With that said, Tyrone watched Sabrina's and Jennie's reactions closely.
Jennie's eyes lit up. She was thrilled about the prospect of living peacefully with her dad and Sabrina!
Sabrina, however, frowned and remained silent. She suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for Bettie. Clearly, Tyrone's request was meant to protect her and their relationship. She hesitated. "I understand you don't want Keilani to return, but... You know... After all, this is a private matter between Bettie and Lance. How can you..."
Tyrone looked at her hesitant expression and asked, "Hadn't Bettie already known about Lance's identity?"
"Yes,"
"Then the deal is done."
"Yes."
"So, it shouldn't be a problem, right? I don't believe Bettie would want Keilani back in Mathias."
Sabrina said, "That just doesn't seem fair."
Tyrone laughed. "Why do you find it unfair?"
Sabrina replied, "Bettie found out the truth a week later!"
Before Bettie learned of Lance's true identity, Bettie and Lance had traveled to Hailand, officially for business, but the trip was more akin to a honeymoon. How could Tyrone suggest it had no effect?
Had Bettie discovered the truth just a week earlier, she might have left Lance instantly. Now, a week later, her feelings for Lance had likely grown stronger, making her decision more difficult.
Having expected that his true identity would come to light after the trip, Lance probably had taken some precautions. Perhaps during their stay in Hailand, their sham marriage became something genuine.
