Chapter: 2078
Marnie felt a small sense of relief. It seemed Shirley knew nothing.

"You should have told me anyway. Even if I couldn't come, I would have gotten a gift for my nephew," Shirley replied.

Scarlette tried to ease the tension. "Marnie might be a mother now, but she's still somewhat naive. Shirley, don't be hard on her."

"Scarlette, no worries. I'm just teasing Marnie. It's a joyous occasion. Here's a gift for my nephew. Marnie, I placed it on the table." Shirley's expression remained unchanged.

Seeing this, Sabrina also brought out her gift and placed it next to Shirley's gift.

“Thank you both." Scarlette beamed.

Sabrina smiled and approached, her gaze on the baby in Marnie's arms.

She asked softly, "Is he asleep?"

"Yes."

Sabrina gazed at the sleeping baby and smiled softly. "He's absolutely adorable."

Marnie noticed Shirley approaching and instinctively pulled the baby closer to her. She silently hoped Shirley would leave soon.

But Scarlette was talkative and started asking Shirley about her love life while praising Sergio for his kindness to Marnie.

This was exactly what Shirley had hoped for. She settled into a nearby chair and listened to Scarlette.

Sabrina wanted to find Jennie but Shirley stopped her, saying, “There are too many children running around outside, and Rudolf can be quite mischievous."

Rudolf was Marnie's younger brother.

Scarlette glanced at Sabrina's slightly rounded belly and nodded.

“Shirley's right. It's safer to stay here."

Marnie was at a loss for words.

After a while, the baby stirred and suddenly began crying.

Scarlette swiftly picked up a bottle from the table and checked its temperature. "It's just right. This little one wakes up at the perfect moment."
