Chapter: 2086
Considering Shirley's personality and her current state, it was likely the latter.
The driver was stunned at their exchange. Just then, Sergio said quietly, “Take a right at the next intersection and pull over."
"Got it. Sure thing." The driver snapped out of it, parked the car, and got out to wait outside, lost in thought.
Shirley was taken aback. "Hey, where are you going?"
The driver stared blankly at Shirley. "I'm waiting out here."
After all, some things were better kept secret.
Shirley's Lips moved, glancing fearfully at Sergio before seizing the chance to leave the car.
Since she suspected Sergio of assaulting her that night, Shirley couldn't stay calm alone with him in such a confined space. She didn't know how to face him now.
Both the driver and Sergio were shocked.
"Shirley?" Sergio asked.
"I'll explain another time." With that, Shirley backed away a few steps, turned, and darted away.
Sergio was puzzled. Was Shirley playing games with him?
“Should we go after her?" the driver asked.
“No, let her be," Sergio replied.
The driver returned to his seat. "Where to now, sir?"
“Home ."
"Got it."
Starting the car, the driver joined the flow of traffic.
Glancing in the rearview mirror, the driver saw Sergio lost in thought and ventured, "Sir, maybe it's just me, but I think she's a little scared of you."
"It's not just you," Sergio said, rubbing his temples. It was evident that Shirley was afraid of him.
