Chapter: 1029
"Thank you, Marcia."
"What do you want to eat for lunch, Mrs. Dreskin?"
Claudia gave a slight shake of her head.
"You don't have to bother with my lunch. I have to go to the hospital later to visit my father."
Originally, she was planning to ask Marcia to prepare some soup, but then she realized that Chana must have done it already.
Upon hearing that, Marcia asked with a worried frown, “Is Mr. Marshall all right? Do you want me to make some soup for him?"
Claudia smiled gratefully at her.
“No, but thank you for asking. His maid has properly made it for him already this morning.”
“Don't mention it. If you need anything, just tell me."
“sure.”
Marcia wanted to help in every way she could to repay her employer's kindness.
However, since Claudia refused, she did not insist on doing it.
After breakfast, Claudia drove to the hospital.
She had to drive around for quite some time before she finally located a parking spot because the hospital had so many patients and visitors during the day.
Last night, Jace was the sole patient in the ward where he was staying.
Chana was holding a bowl of soup when Claudia entered the room.
“Good morning."
It had been a long time since Chana last saw Claudia, so she could not help but examine her from head to toe. Claudia seemed well and did not look malnourished. Satisfied with the result of her inspection, Chana asked Claudia if she wanted some soup.
Having just finished her breakfast, Claudia was not in the mood for soup, so she replied, "No, thank you."
When she walked further into the room, Chana and Elmo excused themselves and went out, leaving the duo of father and daughter inside.
Claudia looked at Jace and felt her anxiety return upon remembering her nightmare.
She made her way over to the chair by the bed and sat down, asking, "Dad, how are you feeling?"
"Much better. I think I can leave the hospital today."
Claudia gave him a disapproving look and threatened, “If you dare leave this place, I won't talk to you anymore. Last night, the doctor told me that you needed to undergo heart bypass surgery."
