Chapter: 1043
Bennett gave her a gentle pat, motioning her to get off his body.
Claudia, not catching what he meant, stayed still until he said, "Let me get you water."
Getting up, Bennett switched on the night lamp, grabbed the nearby glass, and headed downstairs to fetch water for her.
The room was lit up by a soft nightlight. Claudia sat up in bed, her hands instinctively shielding her flushed face.
After some moments, she lowered her hands.
By then, Bennett was back, a glass of water in hand.
He offered her the glass, and Claudia accepted it. She tilted her head, taking a sip of the water, then looked back at him.
“Do you want more?"
She shook her head, setting the half-empty glass down.
“I'm a bit sleepy now."
She was really sleepy now.
Observing her, Bennett grinned.
"Go to sleep. I'll turn off the Light."
As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell into darkness again.
Claudia tugged the light quilt over herself. She felt the bed sank next to her.
Bennett settled down beside her.
The comforting scent of wood enveloped her as she nestled closer and drifted towards sleep.
As she drifted off to sleep, Claudia pondered why Aurora hadn't responded to her message.
Claudia had an erotic dream. Upon waking up, she realized her face was flushed with heat.
She touched the spot next to her, realizing Bennett was gone.
The room felt airy with the air conditioner off and a breeze coming through the windows. It had the freshness of a new day.
Picking up her phone, she checked the time and skimmed through her Line messages.
Still, no word from Aurora.
Was she drunk last night?
