Chapter: 1054
She never imagined that as an adult, married woman, her relationship with her father-in-law would be a headache.

She actually understood Bennett's dilemma. Managing the conflict between her and Benico wasn't easy for him.

And she had been indeed a little "arrogant" before, which accidentally left herself little room to maneuver.

It made sense for Benico to have reservations about her. After all, how would Claudia feel about a woman her son secretly chose to wed?

Moreover, in their brief two encounters, she had left Benico utterly upset.

Reflecting on it, Claudia felt she was quite the handful as a daughter-in-law.

Alas.

She really needed to tone down her pride.

But it was too late to regret it now.

Noticing her anxious expression, Bennett laughed softly, gently touching her as he reassured, "Relax. If he wants you to leave, I'm leaving with you."

He paused briefly, then added, “Plus, I doubt he'd ask you to leave tonight."

Claudia felt he might just be trying to soothe her by saying that.

“But if he does ask me to leave, and you storm out with me, wouldn't it be awkward in front of all those guests?"

After all, today marked Benico's 60th birthday.

With most of the guests tonight being dignified figures, if Bennett were to storm out with her angrily...

Indeed, the thought of such a scene was too surreal for her to imagine.

"It wouldn't be our embarrassment," he responded with a light-hearted grin, seemingly indifferent to Benico's thoughts.

Feeling a bit shy, Claudia simply replied, “Alright.”

She maintained her faith in her husband.

As they continued their conversation, the car approached the hotel.

For Benico's 60th birthday celebration, the entire hotel was booked.

They hadn't arrived early, and as they neared, Claudia spotted an array of luxury cars.

She pressed her lips together, and her heartbeat quickened.

Beside her, Bennett reassuringly grasped her hand. They soon reached the hotel entrance.
