Chapter: 1057
However, after a banquet a few months ago, Zaria's behavior towards Claudia became unexpectedly friendly, which puzzled many people.

Zaria and Claudia were like two good friends. Some men aspired to marry into the Santiago family, but Zaria had rejected them, causing them to feel humiliated. As a result, they resorted to Lampooning her.

"Could it be that Claudia saved Miss Santiago's life? Miss Santiago seems to regard her as if she owes her a debt."

“Well Claudia did save Miss Santiago's life. That night, Miss Santiago fell into the swimming pool, and Claudia jumped in to rescue her. But later, rumors circulated that Miss Santiago had jumped in herself that night."

“Do you think Zaria might be into women?"

“Who knows? Claudia does have a striking appearance! She's lucky to be so attractive!"

They mockingly whispered not far from where the two women were, only daring to utter such words in private.

But no matter what they talked about, it would not change the fact that Zaria displayed warmth and friendliness toward Claudia.

Of course, they weren't the only ones who found it puzzling. Even Jolie and Benico were at a loss to understand why.

Zaria led her before them. The Dreskin and Santiago families were on good terms, and Benico had always treated Zaria as his daughter-in- law.

However, Zaria, whom he considered his ideal daughter-in-law, surprised him by bringing Claudia, his actual daughter-in-law, whom he despised, to wish him a happy birthday.

Approaching Benico and Jolie with Claudia, Zaria smiled and said, “Mr. Dreskin, happy birthday to you. Wishing you a joyful life."

With that, Zaria gently touched Claudia's arm, prompting her to say something.

Noticing this, Claudia quickly came to her senses and said, "Mr. Dreskin, happy birthday to you. I wish you happiness, luck, good health, and a long life."

After saying that, Claudia looked down and became anxious. She unconsciously tightened her grip on the glass.

She didn't know if Benico would reprimand her or worse.

Benico's emotions were in a whirl as he observed Claudia and Zaria.

He grappled with his feelings; he didn't particularly want to be warm towards Claudia, yet he couldn't act cold with Zaria around.

Since Claudia talked right after Zaria, if he walked away abruptly, it would surely draw Zaria's questions.

He held Claudia's gaze briefly, then, without any hint of coldness, turned to Zaria with a gracious smile and said, “Thank you."

He didn't feel happy on his own birthday party.

Hearing his words, Bennett, standing by Claudia, murmured, “Dad.”

Benico shot a glance at Bennett and remarked, "So you still remember I'm your father?"

Worried the conversation might escalate into a fight, Jolie gently pulled at Benico's arm, suggesting, “Benico, today's a celebration.
