Chapter: 1077
He gently grabbed her hand and said, "I already did."

“Really? When? Why didn't I hear it?"

"Just a moment ago."

Helping her straighten her outfit, he led her out.

She left with him in confusion.

A gust of wind blew, sending shivers down Claudia's spine.

The night wrapped the cemetery in a hushed silence, with only the wind making its presence felt.

As they retraced their steps, a flashlight suddenly cut through the darkness.

Without thinking, Claudia gripped Bennett's hand, urging, “Run!"

She lifted the hem of her dress slightly and darted to one side.

“Who's there?" From afar, a guard's voice rang out. Quickly, Claudia tugged Bennett behind a tombstone, whispering, "Stay hidden!"

Noticing her heightened anxiety, Bennett reluctantly crouched down beside her.

He nestled closely behind her, his chest almost brushing against her back.

With every breath he took echoing in her ears, Claudia's thoughts juggled between the approaching guard and the man behind her.

As the footsteps of the guard approached, her heart beat faster and faster.

What if they got caught?

Could it make the front page in the newspaper?

Imagine how embarrassing it would be if it ended up on the front page of the newspaper with Bennett's status!

The more Claudia dwelled on it, the more anxious she grew. When the flashlight arrived, she instinctively reached out her hand.

But, to her surprise, she grasped Bennett's leg. Stunned, she withdrew her hand at once, her cheeks flushing with added embarrassment.

Luckily, the guard merely glanced their way without a thorough search.

Muttering a few disgruntled curses, he turned around and left.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Claudia informed Bennett, "He's gone."

Looking down at her, Bennett asked, "Ready to head out?"
