Chapter: 1086
When she reached the ward, a nurse informed her that Jace was already undergoing his check-up.
Eager to find him, Claudia asked for directions to the testing area and hurriedly made her way.
Given that it was a Saturday, the hospital was bustling.
After searching a few places, she finally located Elmo.
"Elmo!"
"Claudia!"
Wearing a smile, Claudia asked, "How much longer will Dad's tests take?"
"Not too long. He got here around nine."
Claudia accepted the physical examination form from Elmo and quickly scanned it. The only tests left for her father were the computed tomography and the color ultrasound.
Elmo had gotten old. Claudia was concerned about the strain on his waist and legs from standing too long. She kindly suggested that he return to the ward and wait there instead.
After the examination, Jace's eyes lit up when he saw his daughter, and he said, "You're here quite early, aren't you?"
Embarrassed, Claudia said, "It's not early, Dad. It's half past ten!"
Jace smiled, "How was last night?"
It was unfortunate that he wasn't feeling well; otherwise, he would have attended Benico's birthday celebration.
Jace had heard that Benico was dissatisfied with Claudia.
But since Bennett had given him his word, Jace wasn't too concerned.
Still, given it was Benico's 60th birthday party and Claudia was his daughter-in-law, her presence was essential.
Jace's primary concern was if Claudia faced any challenges. He couldn't sleep well with worry last night.
Hoping to put her father's mind at ease, Claudia subtly mentioned, “It was pleasant. We left early though."
She hesitated before adding, "It was also the anniversary of Bennett's mother's death."
Jace was surprised to hear that.
Jace paused briefly and then let out a sigh.
He didn't wish to delve into Bennett's family affairs, so he gently patted Claudia's hand in reassurance.
In fact, he had met Bennett's mother several times. In his memory, she was a radiant, kind-hearted lady.
