Chapter: 1088
Claudia was discussing this with Elmo when a knock on the door caught their attention.
Assuming it was a doctor, she looked up subconsciously and said, "Doctor..."
She was surprised to see Bennett standing at the door.
Jace noticed the visitor too, questioning, “Bennett? What brings you here?"
Bennett acknowledged Jace with a nod and said, "I finished a meeting and thought I'd check on you."
After saying that, he glanced at Claudia's face, broke into a smile, and approached her.
Then he looked at Jace again and asked, “Have you completed your medical examination?"
"I have. You didn't have to come here since you are busy. And Cece doesn't need to visit this often. The doctors reassured me it's nothing serious."
Smiling, Bennett remarked, "Cece's naturally concerned about you."
Warmth spreading through Jace, he said, "Ah, I'm getting old, and my health is not as good as before."
"It's alright. Age will only bring you more vitality."
Soon after Bennett's arrival, it was time for Jace to have lunch.
Taking the lunch box, Jace suggested that both of them should enjoy their weekend outside. He encouraged them, saying, “Go out and have some fun. Don't spend your time looking after me!"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Claudia left alongside Bennett.
After leaving the ward, Claudia asked, “What brought you here all of a sudden?"
With a playful grin, Bennett replied, “Shouldn't I be here? Otherwise, I'd be a no-good son-in-law."
Blushing, Claudia retorted, "My dad understands you have a packed schedule."
"Regardless of how busy I am, I'll always find moments to visit him."
He held her hand and continued, “Plus, it's Saturday, meant for relaxation."
Claudia raised her gaze to him and inquired, "Did you manage to identify the person who called my father? I checked his phone records when I took his phone earlier, but they were all deleted."
Bennett looked at Claudia, saying, "I haven't found it out yet. The caller used a temporary number each time, making them hard to trace."
It was impossible to determine the identity of the person on the other end of the phone if they used a temporary number every time.
"Alright."
Claudia expressed her concern, saying, "What if they continue to contact my father using a temporary number? Are we just going to watch them piss off my dad again without doing anything?"
