Chapter: 1171
Of course, she wouldn't let Breck down on his special day.
When they arrived at the entertainment room, Duncan and the others had already found a new addition to their game. It was Brecks' older brother, Ismael Santos.
Ismael was five years older than Breck, and his child was already in junior high school. He made a special effort to be present today as a show of support for his brother. Otherwise, he would usually accompany his daughter to read at this time.
"It's good to see you, Bennett. You can join in the next game."
It was the first time that Claudia met Ismael. Bennett briefly introduced them to each other.
Claudia had preconceived notions about Ismael. He was gentler than she had imagined. It was hard for her to believe he was Breck's brother.
But when she thought about it, it made sense. The brothers were opposites in character and personality. Therefore, they got along better and didn't compete for family assets.
Following the introduction, Ismael offered his seat to Bennett and Claudia.
"I'll partner with you," Bennett stated to Claudia.
Breck came in carrying two glasses of juice and overheard what Bennett had said.
"You've gone too far this time, Bennett. Are you teaming up with your wife to intimidate us single guys?" he said jokingly.
Claudia blushed. When she was about to ask Breck to join the game, Bennett said, "Your wife can join in as well."
Breck was speechless.
Bennett took the glass of juice and put it in front of Claudia. He glanced up at Breck and winked.
"Oh yeah. I forgot. You don't have a wife. And you guys don't have wives either."
He said it deliberately, his tone devoid of inflection, yet the underlying pride was palpable.
Breck didn't know what to say.
Grover and Duncan were equally dumbfounded.
This man was unbelievably arrogant.
They even entertained thoughts of giving him a piece of their minds.
Sitting there, Claudia blushed.
She reached for the juice and drank it to hide her embarrassment.
Luckily, the group's attention wasn't on her. Breck voiced a minor complaint, then signaled to begin.
Receiving her cards, Claudia glanced at Bennett, held up a chip, and asked, “What's this worth?"
