Chapter: 1206
Noticing Claudia's stare, Bennett knit his brows and cast his gaze downward.
When he noticed her eyes fixed on his collarbone, Bennett smiled faintly, unbuttoned the second button of his collar, and used his fingers to lower the collar slightly, asking, "Is this a better view for you?"
Blushing with embarrassment, Claudia averted her gaze and said, “I'm hungry!"
Then, she dashed downstairs as fast as she could.
Bennett leisurely trailed after her into the dining room.
Marcia had just set the table. Seeing Claudia and Bennett, a hint of joy appeared on her face. “How timely, Mr. and Mrs. Dreskin. Your dinner is prepared."
Taking her seat, Claudia avoided making eye contact with him. She offered Marcia a smile, behaving as though everything was normal, and said, "I'm starving."
Narcia's smile widened. She served a bowl of soup before retreating from the dining room, leaving the couple alone.
Marcia returned to the kitchen, allowing Claudia and Bennett some privacy in the spacious dining room.
October brought a chill to Linmarsh, but memories of their recent encounter left her feeling a warm flush all over.
"Did you enjoy the special dishes at lunch?" Bennett asked, serving some fish onto her plate.
Claudia lifted her eyes to his, noting his casual demeanor, and responded, “Yes, they were delightful. We should eat there again, shouldn't we?"
She had this idea before, but the incident before their meal had jumbled her thoughts, keeping her from saying it.
Heat crept up Claudia's ears once more.
On the contrary, Bennett was not affected at all.
Observing his unbothered expression, Claudia thought she was being overly sensitive and tried to calm down.
Once she felt completely calm, she remembered something important that she needed to share with Bennett.
The romantic image in her mind vanished instantly, leaving only an overwhelming sense of embarrassment.
Claudia held the fork and glanced at Bennett, her face twisted with embarrassment.
Bennett, who was peeling a crab for her, glanced at her and smiled.
“Why are you staring? Am I that handsome?"
Feeling flustered, Claudia huffed, "No. I'm thinking how to explain what happened at Lunchtime."
Hearing her words, Bennett frowned and asked, "What happened at noon?"
Faced with his question, Claudia knew she had to be straightforward.
