Chapter: 1215
Bennett glanced at the woman cradled in his embrace. Taking a deep breath, he said, “Have ever heard this saying?"
Claudia had a feeling that his words weren't leading to something good. "No!" she responded while still in his embrace.
"You should have heard about it." He stopped for a moment, then murmured into her ear, emphasizing every word, “People often crave to relive a pleasant experience."
Raising her head, Claudia protested, “But you and I have plans tomorrow. You shouldn't..."
Looking at her, Bennett moved his thin lips and said, "Then beg me."
Suddenly, memories of the last evening surged in Claudia's mind, causing her to redden.
“Well... You can go to bed early tonight."
Hearing his words, Claudia knew what he meant. She quickly got out of his arms, bit her lip, closed her eyes and kissed his face.
“Please, honey."
Bennett drew her close, whispering, “It's time to sleep."
If she kept this up, he wasn't sure he could resist.
Claudia fluttered her eyelashes before sealing her eyes shut.
She truly was sleepy, not just pretending about it.
In less than ten seconds, Claudia fell asleep.
Bennett's gaze was fixed on the ceiling. His mind wandered elsewhere, trying to calm himself down.
It was Monday.
Claudia was honest with Bennett about having an appointment.
Lucille Brown came to Linmarsh for a show. She had made an appointment with Claudia last month.
Having landed the previous Friday, with shows over the weekend, Lucille scheduled to catch up with Claudia on this day.
Their friendship began at a concert. Lucille's achievements in playing the violin were not inferior to Claudia's on the piano.
As they got to know each other better, they realized that they shared similar personalities and quickly became close friends.
Years ago, during less hectic times, Lucille would often fly to Linmarsh to share a meal with Claudia.
However, family circumstances changed, compelling Lucille into a marriage to save her family's business.
Over a year into their marriage, she rarely picked up her violin, and she didn't perform anymore.
