Chapter: 1312
She shivered and quickly headed to the closet to change into warmer clothes.
When she came out, Bennett sat up on the bed and fixed his gaze on her. “How long will you practice the piano today? Do you want to go out for dinner?"
Feeling a flicker of embarrassment, Claudia replied, "I'll practice for two hours and stay home for dinner."
She didn't want to run around in public with an obvious hickey on her neck.
“Okay. He stood up and grabbed a cup off the nightstand beside him. “Do you want some warm water?"
Claudia nodded appreciatively and headed to the piano room.
After Bennett brought her the water, he didn't disturb her anymore.
Claudia soon became engrossed in playing the piano, immersing herself in the music.
By evening, the aromatic scent of Marcia's soup wafted through the air, enticing Claudia downstairs.
She only wanted to get some water, but the scent of food drew her to the kitchen. "It smells good."
Marcia, busy in the kitchen, noticed her and greeted her with a smile. "Mrs. Dreskin, dinner will be ready in half an hour. Do you want to have some soup first?"
Sheepish, Claudia shook her head and declined, "No, I'll have it later."
Marcia nodded and began to neatly cut the vegetables.
Seeing her busy, Claudia retreated from the room and poured herself a glass of water.
The evening was falling, and the sky was already darkening. An entire day went by like this. It was a routine, but it was fulfilling.
Of course, at night, Bennett inevitably coaxed Claudia into having sex with him, leading to a restful sleep.
On the following morning, Bennett awoke to find Claudia snugly wrapped in the quilt.
The lingering cold from yesterday had gotten worse, the temperature dropping even further.
In the afternoon, a delivery arrived with new autumn clothes. Within minutes, Claudia's closet transformed from empty to brimming with fresh additions. As she marveled at the swift replenishment, a voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Mrs. Dreskin, please sign your name."
Hearing the voice, Claudia came to her senses, took the pen, and signed her name. "Thank you."
"It's my pleasure."
After sending him away, Claudia went back to the closet and examined the clothes carefully. Only after forming a vague idea of them in her mind did she finally make her way to the piano room.
Initially, when Bennett had arranged for new clothes to be sent, she was convinced it was an unnecessary expense, given that the closet was updated every month. She didn't go out often and didn't change her clothes frequently.
