Chapter: 189
Bennett was not someone to be taken lightly. If he truly became irritated, Mathews would undoubtedly face consequences and incur losses.
Mathews offered a tissue to Miguel.
“Why so frightened? I'm not planning anything."
Snatching the tissue, Miguel reached for the box of tissues and exclaimed, “I swear, if you annoy Bennett, I will strangle you before killing myself!"
“Relax. I know my Limits."
Miguel grumbled, "Just don't mess with Claudia.”
Mathews retorted, “When did I?"
“Don't be so frivolous. Be serious!"
Mathews fell silent, staring out the window.
He knew his saga with Claudia was far from over.
Bennett and Claudia found themselves alone in the space. A breath of relief escaped Claudia's lips.
Settled in her wheelchair, her eyes couldn't help but fall on the lipstick mark adorning Bennett's collar.
“Could you tilt your head down a bit?"
With a quick glance in her direction, Bennett complied silently.
As he leaned in closer, the earthy scent of fresh wood enveloped Claudia's senses, triggering a warm blush on her ears.
“Your collar seems a bit out of place."
Her gaze dared not meet Bennett's as she extended her hand.
A sense of guilt caused her hand to tremble involuntarily.
Hastily, she arranged his collar, doing her best to mask the lipstick evidence. Once satisfied, she withdrew her hand and said, “It's all done."
A wave of guilt washed over Claudia as she glanced at Bennett.
His calm reply was, "I appreciate it."
“You... You're welcome."
Standing upright, the woodsy aroma from Bennett became less intense, and Claudia's racing heart found its pace.
Luckily, Bennett didn't discover any issues.
