Chapter: 216
The term "husband" made Claudia blush as she texted back, "Just got here."

“That soon? It's barely past ten. What time did he pick you up?"

“Eight. Can you believe it?"

"Wow, he really couldn't wait to start Living with you, could he?!" Claudia wanted to steer clear of the topic. As she was about to send an emoji to wrap up the conversation, Bennett appeared from upstairs.

Spotting her on the couch, Bennett made his way to the fridge and grabbed a can of soda. "Decided on a room yet?"

Caught off guard, Claudia confessed, "No, not yet." Bennett popped the can, tilted his head back slightly and drank the soda.

The act of drinking accentuated his Adam's apple, which bobbed with each gulp.

Claudia's index finger twitched involuntarily. It had brushed against his Adam's apple a couple of days ago, and the memory of his warm skin lingered on her fingertip.

After draining his soda, Bennett shot her a knowing look and instructed, "Go pick one now."

Her cheeks flushing, Claudia diverted her gaze and muttered a quick, "Alright."

Given her injured right Leg hadn't fully recovered, she leaned on her left leg and slowly got up.

Bennett patiently waited for her by the stairs, only proceeding once she had caught up.

There were four rooms on the second floor. It consisted of one study, one master bedroom, and two guest rooms.

He guided her to the guest bedroom on the right, mentioning, “The rooms are soundproof. If this one is to your Liking, I can convert it into a piano room for you."

The moment the door swung open, a piano captured Claudia's attention. Brimming with excitement, she instinctively approached it, flipped the lid open, and began to play a few notes.

It was a Steinway Model S piano, crafted in 2018, boasting a price tag of around four million dollars.

Back at her house, Claudia also owned a Steinway, a purchase from over a decade ago costing around a million dollars. She had cherished it and maintained it in pristine condition.

A year ago, when she and Anthony were gearing up for their wedding, Jace offered to gift her a new piano. Claudia had spent days overseas, selecting the perfect piano.

The piano she had chosen was the same one before her now, a four-million-dollar masterpiece. But it was an exorbitant price, and Claudia had eventually refrained from asking Jace to buy it.

She intended to stick with her old piano after marriage. She hadn't anticipated encountering her dream piano here today.

Claudia delicately brushed the piano keys and swiveled around to face Bennett. "Is this piano a surprise from you for me?"

“Nope.”

“What ?"

The grin on her face evaporated in a moment, a wave of disappointment washing over her. Swiftly retracting her hand, she sprang up from her seat and approached Bennett, a forced smile on her face.
