Chapter: 263
After viewing screenshots of Anthony's messages sent to her by Claudia, Aurora broke into Laughter.

“If I remember correctly, you once commended his writing," she remarked, punctuating her text with a Laughing emoji.

“I was young and foolish," Claudia responded, adding a shrug emoji. Aurora responded, “I‘m laughing so hard my stomach hurts. Look at what he says here, ‘I know that our relationship will inevitably reach its end. We can't remain who we once were.’ Ugh..."

Left speechless by this, Claudia simply replied, "I need to take care of something. Catch you later."

Aurora pleaded, "Wait! I haven't finished yet! ‘If there is a reprieve from the pain, I'm willing to await that day. Ha-ha-ha, help! Is Anthony a teenager? I can't handle this! How did you read all this?" Claudia admitted, “Actually, I didn't read it all."

Aurora continued, “Look at this one! ‘I think I will never forget you. As you pursue the light and embark on a new Life, I will hold onto our beautiful memories, even if you never glance back.’ Doesn't he feel embarrassed? It's so cringy.”

Claudia simply replied, "I know, right?" Not in the mood to carry on the conversation, Claudia proceeded to block messages from all unknown numbers.

Just as she was about to put her phone down, a call from a vaguely familiar number came through After hesitating briefly, Claudia answered, "Jackson?"

“Indeed, it's me. Mrs. Dreskin, good afternoon. I was instructed by Mr Dreskin to inform you he'll be dining at the Dreskin family home tonight. Please prepare yourself. He'LL collect you after his meeting.”

"I understand, thank you."

Not at all, Mrs. Dreskin. Goodbye."

“Goodbye.”

After ending the call, Claudia swiftly rose to her feet, heading towards her wardrobe to select an outfit.

As Bennett's contract wife, she had finally received an assignment! She had to ensure she looked both elegant and respectable this evening.

She was to accompany Bennett home and help him in his retaliation against his stepmother!

The wardrobe was filled with many dresses, but Claudia hesitated to wear them. Each dress appeared to be expensive, and she didn't want to risk damaging them.

In the end, Claudia opted for a simple but elegant white dress from a famous brand's new summer collection. The dress featured a thin belt adorned with camellia embroidery, perfectly accentuating her slender waist.

The dress gracefully reached her ankles, with intricate gold threads embroidered on the edge. It had two layers, the outermost one adorned with golden threads, creating the illusion of a blooming golden rose when it fluttered. The dress Looked absolutely stunning and elegant.

A round collar graced the dress, flattering the elegance of her neck. From a jewelry box, she picked a diamond pendant necklace. The diamond, while not overly Large, subtly accentuated the contours of her neck and collarbone.

She completed the ensemble with a charming vintage pink handbag crafted from sheepskin. The combination made her an image of sophistication, beauty, and elegance.

Her hair was arranged in an updo, with just a few tendrils left loose to frame her face. Her makeup, kept minimal, added an air of maturity to her visage.

However, due to her injured foot, she had to forego the addition of stilettos.

After a two and a half hour endeavor of preparation, Claudia descended the stairs, crossing paths with Marcia, who was just ending her workday.

Marcia, holding a bag of kitchen waste, stopped near the sofa, casting a glance at Claudia.
