The moment she settled into the car, the distinct aroma of wood welcomed her.

Pointing to Joann in the distance, she began to explain, “Actually, I have a mole planted who was instructed to communicate with Trudy, the head organizer of this event. Presumably, Joann is presently on a call with Trudy, who is extending her apologies.”

Initially, Claudia was hesitant to disclose her plan to Bennett, but now she couldn't hide the twinge of pride in her voice.

“Just wait. Before long, Trudy will come out to personally invite me back."

As she finished, her eyebrows arched triumphantly, and she offered a self-satisfied grin.

Bennett remained unperturbed, asking simply, “And then?"

Claudia was at a loss for words, blinking in surprise at Bennett. "Isn't that enough?"

Having the event's supervisor apologize in person seemed Like an ample resolution to her.
