Chapter: 319
It was so embarrassing she couldn't speak about it.

Although the charity show hadn't gone as planned, the end result was not that bad in Claudia's opinion. The show still made an impact nonetheless.

The gossip online died down after a few days. Out of the blue, Claudia received a call from Trudy.

Trudy requested that she become an ambassador of a public service activity for the hearing-impaired community. There was no monetary benefit in it for her. However, such activity was beneficial for both parties involved.

Such activities needed positive publicity, so they resorted to recruiting the help of public figures. In the same vein, these popular people were always Looking to better their image. Participating in such an activity was a great honor for most stars.

Claudia wasn't really a public figure. Although she had gained more popularity after her altercation with Patty online, she didn't Leverage that to keep being in the news. Instead, she concentrated on mastering her craft and relied on her talent.

She wasn't an attention whore, so she didn't need to do too much just to remain relevant.

This was the reason why Trudy wanted Claudia to do her a favor. Claudia was no fool. On the charity show, Trudy had chosen her over Patty. Although she made the decision mostly because of Bennett, it appeared that she already had other things in mind for Claudia. Perhaps getting her to be an ambassador for this activity was one of them.

When the word got out that Trudy had taken Claudia's side that day, Patty's fans ganged up against Trudy’s organization and hurled insults at her for several days. It was messy.

Claudia wasn't one to repay good with evil. Since Trudy had been so kind to her, she didn't want to refuse.

However, she felt that she needed to make Trudy understand it wasn't that easy just because she owed her one.

“Trudy, I'd love to help, but I need to discuss this with my husband first. Anything I do will somewhat affect him, so I must seek his permission."

Trudy wasn't pushy at all. She just reminded Claudia to get back to her and they hung up the phone on a good note.

With the phone in her hand, Claudia hesitated whether she should send a message to Bennett.

She hadn't lied to Trudy just to get her off her back. Bennett went on a business trip two days ago. He was supposed to return sometime today.

Claudia didn't like discussing important business over the phone. After much hesitation, she put down her phone and decided to wait until he got back home.

She continued to practice.

It was eleven o'clock in the night when Bennett finally returned from his trip. At this time, Claudia was playing online games with Aurora.

Boredom was Claudia's pal since Bennett traveled. To keep herself busy, she usually played games in the living room. She was currently addicted to a game called Honor of Kings. She and Aurora sucked at it, but they didn't stopped playing it because it was fun. They usually played together until midnight daily.

Claudia was well into a tough level when she heard a rattle from the front door. She slowly turned and pricked her ears up to make sure she hadn't heard wrong. The next second, her enemies killed her in the game.

Aurora, who was standing next to her, was also killed shortly after.

“Damn it! We lost again!"

Aurora cussed out exasperatedly, dropping her console. Still, Claudia's attention was elsewhere. She stared at the door as she broke out in cold sweat. A voice told her to run upstairs to hide. However, her knees buckled and her feet were strangely glued to the floor.

The security system of this villa was top-notch.
