Though the entertainment industry wasn't her thing, Claudia wasn't averse to the money.
Two songs for three million dollars? Only fools would turn that down! "So, you're in?"
"Yes! Just send the contract to Joann."
“ALright,"
Mathews agreed. As Claudia prepared to end the call, he added, "The offer was hard to turn down, wasn't it?"
“An offer like this is indeed hard to resist," she admitted.
"I knew you couldn't say no to the money."
Caught red-handed, Claudia confessed, "Next time you have such well-paid jobs, remember to contact me!"
“Of course, considering you're one of the country's leading pianists." It was her own words thrown back at her.
Claudia felt her cheeks heating up.
“I need to get some breakfast. Goodbye."
"Bye."
Once she hung up, Claudia messaged Joann with the details before freshening up.
By the time she sat down for breakfast, it was eight.
Claudia's mood was bright and she indulged in an extra piece of toast.
Discussing Lunch with Marcia, she cheerily requested several dishes
After her conversation with Marcia, Claudia prepared to practice her piano skills.
Turning, she was met with Bennett's gaze.
Bennett had just completed his swim, his hair still shedding water droplets. They slid down his defined face, trickling to the ground.
His bathrobe was haphazardly thrown over his body, its neckline gaping, revealing much of his skin to Claudia's gaze.
“Did you have your breakfast?"
Claudia promptly averted her eyes, responding, "I've just finished." Ugh, ignorance would've been bliss.
They lived in the same house.
Yet, while she had only just got up and finished breakfast, Bennett had already swam and returned!
