Claudia was rendered speechless.

“I'm so happy! Thank you, Miss Mar-I mean, Mrs. Dreskin!"

Zaria took the gift and said, “Let's go inside!" As she spoke, she reached out to hold Claudia's arm.

“Miss Santiago, kindly refrain from touching my wife."

After Bennett said this, the ambiance, briefly Lightened, turned chilly again.

Zaria shot Bennett a disapproving look.

“Isn't it okay for me to escort Mrs. Dreskin inside?"

“I'LL be the one to do that."

Zaria's brows furrowed and said, “You're overly protective. She came to attend a birthday party, and you're keeping an eye on her like she's a prisoner or something."

"It's called protection, considering some may harbor hidden intentions."

Zaria rolled her eyes. "For heaven's sake, I've given assurances! Moreover, Mrs. Dreskin once saved my Life. Why would I harm her?"

Turning to Claudia, Zaria sought confirmation, "Isn't that right, Mrs. Dreskin?"

Claudia suddenly felt a twinge of awkwardness. "Yes."

But surely she also found Zaria overly enthusiastic.

Bennett gently clasped Claudia‘s hand, guiding her inside while leaving Zaria behind.

Noticing this, Zaria quickly paced to join them, aligning herself beside Claudia. "Mrs. Dreskin, you look stunning with your makeup today."

“Thank you. It's just a touch of makeup.”

Undeterred, Zaria continued with her compliments. "Those earrings are unique. Where'd you get them? I want a pair of those too!”

To be honest, Claudia couldn't stand it anymore.

“Sure, I'll send the purchase link over to you later."

“And that perfume, it smells so good. Is it a special one?"

Though aware of Zaria's flattery, who didn't enjoy a bit of praise? Claudia responded, "A friend made it for me."

“As expected, awesome people have awesome friends."

Flattered by the continuous compliments, Claudia managed to maintain a composed exterior, though internally she was beaming.
