Chapter: 438
A beam of light from a passing car illuminated the interior as Bennett's Adam's apple bobbed.
“Okay,“ he agreed, turning the wheel to drive home.
Claudia was about to pretend to be asleep when the car fell into silence. Bennett's attention was on the road, showing no interest in conversation.
Unable to maintain her charade, Claudia slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze crept up from his slender fingers, to his thin Lips, up the bridge of his nose, stopping at his brows.
"I feel a little hot," she said, touching her cheek.
She was indeed feeling hot.
Bennett glanced at her and adjusted the air conditioning.
Claudia thanked him, not wishing to distract him further, but she couldn't help but keep stealing glances at him.
Bennett, who was both serious and careful as he drove, was incredibly handsome.
At the same moment, as Zaria was preparing to search for Claudia, she discovered from a friend that Claudia and Bennett had left the party ten minutes earlier.
They left?
But why?
Zaria's mood soured. Observing her, her friend inquired, "Zaria, what's bothering you? You seem unhappy!"
Zaria glanced at her friend and admitted, “Yes, I'm somewhat upset. Why did Claudia leave so quickly?"
Her friend's confusion was evident. What?
Was she too kind to Claudia?
She felt compelled to remind Zaria something.
“You and Claudia are supposed to be love rivals."
“Love rivals? My family has already broken off the engagement with the Dreskin family!"
Zaria's friend questioned, "Because of Claudia?"
“Not exactly.”
Zaria dismissed with a wave of her hand. Her friend's puzzlement grew.
“Zaria, why are you so kind to Claudia?"
"She saved my Life!"
