Chapter: 476
“Isn't your marital status destined to change at some point?"
Claudia was left speechless, feeling a pang of heartache.
Before long, the taxi arrived, and Claudia composed herself and climbed in.
Twenty minutes later, as the car parked in front of the square, she was met with the sight of the milling crowd.
Lots of couples were out on a date during weekend.
It was a splendid Saturday. She and Aurora were going to the bar to see handsome male dancers dance to the pole!
No wonder Bennett took so long to reply. He indeed had every reason to be angry!
Aurora had been at the restaurant for quite some time when Claudia walked in. She spotted her friend seated comfortably in a booth, waiting.
It was weekend and also Lunch hour, so the restaurant was bustling with couples, making up almost ninety percent of the guests.
Claudia hurried over to her friend and called out, “Aurora.”
Aurora grinned and teased, "Oh, look, a beautiful married woman has arrived."
What?? Claudia was taken aback.
A beautiful married woman?
She didn't mind being complimented for her beauty, but why had Aurora emphasized the married part?
Accepting the menu from Aurora, Claudia found herself under scrutiny. Aurora questioned, “Does your husband know that you're off to see handsome men with me tonight?"
The question hit a nerve.
Claudia remained silent, prompting Aurora to sense something amiss. She looked at her friend closely and demanded, "Tell me, who the hell are you? Why are you in my friend's body?"
Claudia couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity, admonishing Aurora to pay attention to their surroundings.
“There are so many people here. Be mindful of what you say!"
“why did you go quiet just then?”
Claudia's cheeks flushed as she handed her phone to Aurora.
“Read it yourself," she stammered, not knowing how to explain.
A quick glance at the chat history was all Aurora needed to comprehend the situation.
She returned the phone with a disgusted expression, saying, “Thank you. I've had enough of your public display of affection."
