Chapter: 514
While removing her makeup and hair, Claudia replied, "I only hope Mr. Gomez offers me such a job again."
Hearing that, Joann couldn't help but Laugh.
“Once, a variety show once offered five million for three episodes, but you refused."
"As you said, five million for three episodes. I'd need to stay there for three weekends, right?"
She couldn't bring herself to do it.
The greater the hassle, the less the reward seemed worth it.
After considering Claudia's words for a moment, Joann found herself in agreement.
“I'm going to change my clothes.”
Claudia changed her clothes, and she and Joann settled into reserved seats in the auditorium to watch the rest of the concert.
For Claudia, this was her first time experiencing a live concert by Mathews. As he danced and sang on stage, she was astonished to see that his breath was even steadier than a machine supplying oxygen. She couldn't help but admire his incredible physical fitness.
As she became absorbed in the performance, time seemed to fly by. Six or seven songs later, more than half an hour had passed, and the concert was coming to an end.
The remaining time was reserved for Mathews to interact with his fans. By half past nine, exhaustion took over Claudia, and she fell asleep, leaning against Joann.
Off stage, Mathews spotted Claudia and smiled, announcing, “No. 19." Startled awake, Claudia asked, "What's wrong?”
Joann pointed at the number on her chair. "Mathews drew a number to give out gifts on stage. It's a coincidence that you were chosen.” Embarrassed, Claudia glanced back, only to find her sleepy face displayed on the big screen.
Could anyone be more embarrassed than she was at that moment?
Mathews pretended to have a sudden realization. "Oh, it's Miss Marshall. She must be so tired to fall asleep in such an environment." Blushing, Claudia made her way to the stage, guided by a staff member. The sudden spotlight jarred her awake, but her mind still felt foggy.
“Are you tired already?" Mathews asked.
Claudia took the microphone and answered awkwardly, “A little; actually, I'm not very tired. But I usually go to bed early.”
"Go to bed early and get up early. What a good girl!" Mathews teased. Claudia looked at Mathews, retorting, "Is Mr. Gomez a bad boy then?" Mathews just smiled, and the crowd erupted into laughter.
“I sleep late and get up late," he replied casually.
Claudia's face turned even redder. "Did I win the prize?"
“It seems Miss Marshall is looking forward to the prize."
"It's a free gift. Everyone wants it," she replied.
Only after Claudia had spoken did she realize her words might be taken the wrong way.
