Chapter: 534
Sensing an impending argument, Miguel shot Mathews a stern look and quickly intervened.
“He didn't mean it that way. Come here, I've got a surprise for you!"
At Miguel's mention of a surprise, Patty instantly perked up. "Really?" As Patty and Miguel moved away, Mathews, brow furrowed, dialed Wesley Answering just as he was about to step out, Wesley questioned, “What do you need now?"
“Did you investigate what I asked about earlier?"
Wesley paused, trying to remember. He then realized what his friend was referring to and inquired, "Oh, that matter... Well, does it ever occur to you that maybe Claudia and Bennett genuinely fell for one another before tying the knot?"
Wesley was at a loss for words. Mathews was obsessed with discerning why Claudia wed Bennett.
He felt Mathews was intentionally giving him a hard time.
How could he investigate such a thing?
He couldn't just approach Claudia and bluntly asked, "Miss Marshall, did you have any secret reasons to wed Mr. Dreskin?"
If he did this, he would definitely be in trouble!
“There's no way."
Growing frustrated, Wesley retorted, “I'm afraid there's nothing I can do then. Maybe you should hire someone more skilled."
Mathews was being annoying and unreasonable right now!
"You're just incompetent.”
Then Mathews ended the call. Hearing the busy tone, Wesley was left speechless with anger.
The woman Mathews had feelings for ended up marrying someone else!
Who was incompetent now?
The whispers and rumors online had gradually begun to fade, but Claudia's heart, unsettled by Aurora's words, remained restless.
Every time she saw Bennett in recent days, Aurora's words echoed in her mind.
“Any chance Bennett is seducing you?"
As a result, she couldn't help but staring at Bennett from time to time. Even Claudia herself felt like she was the pervert between the two.
And then, she made a blunder.
On what should have been a peaceful weekend, Bennett maintained his usual self-disciplined routine.
When Claudia went downstairs, she saw Bennett, fresh from swimming and exercising, his abdominal muscles partly hidden and partly visible under a bath towel. Her eyes were drawn to him, and she found it difficult to look away.
