Chapter: 568
In reality, the villa was a short distance from Segarine Group's office. Merely five subway stations away, it took a mere fifteen minutes for Claudia to reach the villa.
Exiting the subway station, Claudia hailed a taxi and arrived home within half an hour.
Once home, she messaged Bennett, informing, “I've arrived home!" Claudia hadn't anticipated a response from Bennett, given his demanding schedule.
Having changed into her pajamas, Claudia turned her gaze to her phone, only to find the screen illuminated.
What? Tapping her phone, she discovered a reply from Bennett that read, “Good girl.”
Seeing these two words, "Good girl," Claudia's cheeks reddened and her heart raced.
Was she imagining things?
Could the phrase "Good girl" really signify Bennett's affection for her?
“Stop overthinking, Claudia!" she murmured, attempting to dispel her thoughts. Yet, she couldn't help but ruminate. She ended up sending a screenshot to Aurora, along with a message, “Aurora, today I brought lunch to Bennett. When I got back home, I messaged him to let him know I'm back safely. He replied with ‘good girl’. Do you think there's a hidden meaning? Like he's fond of me?"
Aurora replied, "I think he dotes on you very much!"
Reading Aurora's message, Claudia was taken aback. She replied, “Well... Thanks. I suddenly feel sober."
Aurora was puzzled by this response.
What was it she'd said?
What did Claudia mean?
Damn it!
“Mr. Dreskin, this isn't my fault!" Aurora muttered to herself.
Tomorrow was Kristy and Anthony's engagement party, and Bennett was on a two-day business trip in another city. Claudia was only remembering it now.
Damn it! She forgot to tell Bennett about the party
Claudia didn't know what to do. She didn't expect that Amya would guess right this time that Bennett wouldn't be able to attend the party.
She was so agitated that she was no Longer in the mood to practice the piano. She slumped in the sofa, picked up her phone, and sent a message to Aurora. "Girl, I forgot to tell Bennett about Kristy and Anthony's engagement party tomorrow. He is away on a business trip right now."
Aurora was shocked when she read her friend's message.
Obviously, Aurora was also speechless about the matter. Then, she replied, "Well... Why don't you just tell Kristy that you can't make it to the party? Tell her that something came up and you had to deal with it tomorrow. It'd be pointless for you to attend Kristy and Anthony's engagement party by yourself anyway. And that scumbag Anthony may even think that you show up because you're going to take him away from Kristy."
Claudia said, "I can't do that. I already told them that we would come. I was even a bit cocky about it."
Aurora replied, "Well, I suppose it's no big deal if you show up to that party all by yourself. No matter what people say, as long as you and Bennett are still married, you're still Mrs. Dreskin, and there's nothing anybody can do about it."
