Chapter: 578
Claudia was speechless.
Well, thank you for getting over it so quickly. She thought.
"Are you feeling better?" Bennett asked.
She shook her head and answered, "I'm still quite bloated."
"Do you want to go to the hospital?”
Without hesitation, Claudia snapped, "No. I'll be fine soon. I just need to give the digestive tablets time to work."
What kind of person goes to the emergency room for overeating? Is he trying to get the doctors and nurses to Laugh at me, too? She thought.
Seeing the anxiety in Claudia's face, Bennett decided to stop teasing her and said, “Very well. Just rest for another fifteen minutes. The tablets should work then.”
“Okay.”
Bennett sat beside Claudia on the sofa. As he leaned on the back of the couch, his phone on the coffee table suddenly Lit up.
Claudia glanced at Bennett's phone screen reflexively but didn't see anything specific. She only saw a group chat notification.
She was afraid that Bennett would misunderstand her, so she quickly ‘looked away.
She really didn't intend to sneak a peek at his phone.
It was just a knee-jerk reaction.
Bennett glanced at her and said nothing. Then, he picked up his phone. In the group chat, Breck was sending tons of messages.
“You are so inhuman, Bennett! Your wife doesn't drink. Why did you ask me to give her red wine?" Breck's message read.
“I'm starting to think that maybe you just tricked Claudia into marrying you," Breck added.
“Maybe you're right, Breck," Grover piled on.
"You're really damn good, Bennett," Duncan commented.
Bennett glanced at Claudia and sent his reply, “I understand your jealousy, Breck. After all, you don't have a wife.
“What?" Breck replied.
Grover was speechless.
“Yeah! Tell him, Bennett!" Duncan wrote.
Bennett put down his phone and didn’t look at the messages in the group chat anymore. Anyway, Breck wouldn't say anything useful.
