Chapter: 58
She added sternly, “Remember, I'm Mrs. Bennett now."
Anthony blanched but quickly recovered. ‘m aware, you only married him to spite me, right? I truly regret my actions. After all the years we spent together, I can't believe you would throw it all away so easily!"
He didn't buy it.
Twelve years of history couldn't be brushed off in just a month, or so he thought.
“Falsifying marriage documents is illegal. The truth is Bennett and I are really married."
Claudia paused, glancing at Anthony, she smirked coldly, asserting, “And we're over."
She said that word again!
Her words hit Anthony like a ton of bricks, he staggered a bit, his gaze fixed on Claudia's icy smile. He stammered, “I don't believe it!
You're lying! We've known each other for ages, I know how much I mean to you! Plus, you're still living in the Marshall residence. Your act with Bennett might seem convincing, but I don't buy it!
I get it, I wronged you, and you're getting back at me! But Cece, if you stop this charade, I don't care about what happened. Hear me out, divorce Bennett and remarry me. I'LL give you an even more spectacular wedding!
Can we put this behind us, please?"
Crouching in front of her, Anthony moved to caress her face as he used to.
However, Claudia turned away and his thumb ended up grazing her hair instead.
As Claudia gazed at Anthony standing before her, she never anticipated him uttering such words.
Even at this moment, he still held onto the belief that if he just sweet-talked her enough, she would just forgive him.
In her memories, he was once a gentle man. However, he had changed long ago, a fact Claudia had been aware of but hesitated to accept.
Her gaze fell to the device cradled in her hand, the storm of her fury eclipsing her sense of judgment.
She dialed in Bennett's number, fueled by a potent mix of rage and disillusionment. One solitary thought occupied her mind as she made the call.
She needed Bennett to come get her immediately!
About half a dozen seconds passed before the connection was established, and a deep masculine voice greeted her. "Hello?"
Claudia's fingers tightened around the phone as she said, “Honey, dinner is over. Can you swing by my place and get me?"
“Honey?"
