Chapter: 586
Still, Claudia couldn't help feeling mortified. Even though she and Bennett were a married couple, she still felt like she was being a pervert when she objectified her husband.

“I don't blame you." ut I blame myself."

“Well, I like you...

Hearing this, Claudia raised her head and stared at Bennett with wide eyes. When she looked at him, she felt her heart break into a full gallop. All she could think about now were the words "I like you".

Did Bennett just make a declaration of Love?

If he did, why did he do it so suddenly and casually?

When Claudia was about to say “I like you, too", she heard him continue, "I Like you when you're all shy.”

With that, her mind went blank once again.

If he wanted to see her make a fool of herself, he should just get it over with.

“Don't think too much, okay? Let's go have lunch. We still have something important to do in the afternoon.”

After saying that, Bennett put on a serious expression

Claudia also calmed down and said, "Okay. Let's go have Lunch.”

It was more important to get down to business.

She didn't need to read too much into Bennett's words.

Marcia just finished setting the table when Claudia and Bennett walked into the dining room.

Marcia made a substantial Lunch with all of dishes Claudia Liked. Seeing this, Claudia was moved. She suddenly remembered that she had promised Marcia something a few days ago.

She took a glance at the kitchen but saw nothing. Although Marcia hadn't said anything, Claudia thought that she should keep her promise.

She told Marcia that she would convince Bennett to give her a raise. That was exactly what she intended to do. Marcia deserved it.

Taking a sip of her soup, Claudia cleared her throat and said, “May I discuss something with you, Mr. Dreskin?"

“Sure. What is it?"

Bennett put down his fork and Looked at her seriously. Claudia felt a Little embarrassed, but she proceeded, “Marcia has been doing a terrific job. She even taught me how to cook soup a few days ago. Remember that food I sent to your office? Marcia taught me how to make it. And look at these scrumptious dishes Marcia made for us today. I mean, she really gets our taste. I just want to ask if you can.

ALL of a sudden, Claudia felt that she might be overstepping her bounds. Bennett was the one paying Marcia, yet she was the one who promised Marcia a raise.

It didn't feel right. Bennett should be the one to decide whether or not Marcia should be paid more.

Thinking of this, Claudia trailed off and then fell silent.
