Chapter: 603
Was she supposed to open the door now, get out of the car, and then run all the way to her bedroom?
However, before she could move a muscle, she heard a beep and then locks clicking in place. Great. Bennett just Locked them inside the car.
After locking the car doors, Bennett stared intently at Claudia and said, "This is the part where you explain to me what you just said, Mrs. Dreskin."
Looking into her husband's dark eyes, Claudia bit her Lip. She felt so guilty that her hands began trembling. She started, “And I shall explain, Mr. Dreskin."
Bennett slowly loosened the collar of his shirt and then flashed her wife a faint smile. "Proceed," he said.
Blushing, Claudia cleared her throat and said, “It's not what you think."
“Okay. What is it then?"
Bennett leaned sideways against the back of his seat and cocked his head to the side, preparing to listen carefully.
Melting under his probing gaze, Claudia racked her brain for the right words to say.
After a while, she finally said, "Fine. The story goes like this.
There's this man with whom my friend is in love. My friend says she wants to declare her Love for that man, but she can't."
"why?"
Although stunned by the question, Claudia still answered, "Well, they're colleagues. My friend is afraid that if she declares her love for him and he rejects her, they will both be embarrassed."
“So she chooses not to let him know how she feels?"
Hearing that, she didn't know what to say.
Claudia took a deep breath and said, "That's not the key point here!”
"Sorry, I shouldn't have interrupted you. Go on."
“The key point is that there's another woman who seems to have feelings as well for my friend's colleague. That woman even deliberately showed off in front of my friend and did something that made my friend unhappy. My friend told me about it just now. She asked me whether or not I thought that woman intended to steal her man from her."
Speaking of this, Claudia said with lack of confidence, "So I was wondering if that woman was competing with my friend for my friend's colleague.
That's the whole story. It's not what you think at all.”
After saying that, she flashed Bennett an innocent look, but her red ears had already betrayed her.
After watching Claudia explain herself away, Bennett swallowed and fought the urge to smile. He wanted to lock her in a tight embrace and kiss her, but he restrained himself. He asked, "What did that other woman do that upset your friend?"
Claudia didn't expect him to ask such a question.
How could he care about these details?
