Chapter: 653
"Yes," he affirmed.

Following a moment of silence, he continued, "Mrs. Dreskin, if you hold any regard for me, you should be aware that I disclosed my emotional history during a prior interview."

Feeling a sense of embarrassment, Claudia gazed at him and admitted, “But I believe that interview happened before we met."

He offered no response but instead cast a scrutinizing glance in her direction.

Upon witnessing this, Claudia experienced an unexplained anxiety.

She began to contemplate whether she had indeed neglected him!

As his spouse, how could she remain ignorant of his emotional journey? She resolved to revisit all the interviews Bennett took Later tonight! Claudia ceased her ruminations and followed him to the parking Lot. Bennett courteously opened the car door for her and, once she had settled in, he closed it and took his place behind the wheel.

Just as Claudia fastened her seat belt, he unexpectedly remarked, "We emerged victorious.”

Considering the preceding exchange, Claudia found herself somewhat perplexed by this sudden declaration.

It appeared that Bennett had no intention of clarifying matters immediately. He proceeded to drive to their designated dinner location.

The car set off slowly and Claudia gradually comprehended the implication behind his words, "we emerged victorious."

Earlier, they had wagered on a golf match.

Contemplating the bet, Claudia's cheeks flushed uncontrollably.

Would Bennett be displeased if she reneged on her agreement?

With this concern in mind, she couldn't resist sneaking a glance at the man steering the vehicle beside her.

He seemed to be in high spirits.

Claudia pursed her lips and a rather juvenile idea occurred to her.

Meanwhile, Breck and the others had been patiently waiting in the private dining room for quite some time. Observing that Bennett and Claudia had yet to arrive, Breck couldn't help but nudge Grover, asking, “What did you say to Kayla earlier at the golf course?"

This woman clearly lacked scruples. Despite being aware of Bennett's marital status, she still harbored designs on him.

Her audacity in pursuing a role as his mistress was truly distasteful! “Merely the unvarnished truth," Grover remarked, arching an elegant eyebrow.

“Truth? She's hardly one to comprehend it!" Breck scoffed.

Grover chose to remain silent on the matter.

As their discussion continued, the private room's door swung open. Claudia and Bennett had arrived fashionably late, with Claudia following Bennett's lead like a compliant rabbit.

Observing the pair, Breck couldn't help but envy them immensely.
