Anyway, the walk would do her good. Bennett held his hand out and asked, “Have you got some room for candied haw berries, Mrs. Dreskin?"
As she thought about the sour-sweet taste, Claudia's mouth watered involuntarily. She hesitated briefly before taking Bennett's hand and stepping out of the car. "Do they sell candied haw berries here?"
“You'll have to wait and see."
Hand in hand, they strolled across the bridge to the riverside park. Numerous hawkers had set up along the riverbank by eight o'clock in the evening.
Among the vendors were those selling lollipops and candied haw berries.

They walked over to the riverside railing, where Bennett savored the cool breeze and asked, “Are they delicious?"
Claudia had almost finished the entire bag of the sweet and sour red berries when she looked up at Bennett.
“These are so good. Want to try some?" she offered.
"So thanks."
“Suit yourself."
She knew he didn't Like things that were sour and sweet.
After finishing off the last berry, Claudia still wanted more. Claudia looked up from the empty bag and met Bennett's gaze. Feeling a little embarrassed, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I finished the bag."
“Were they delicious?"
“Yeah.”
Didn't he just ask her that?
Why did he ask again?
“Let me have a taste."
Claudia gazed at him and blinked in confusion.
