Chapter: 698
Bennett's cousin, Carolina Hinks, was only 19 and a junior at the prestigious University of Linmarsh.
When Carolina heard that Bennett was coming over with Claudia to have dinner tonight, she took time off her busy schedule and left campus to see them.
Carolina seemed very at ease with Bennett. Claudia could tell they had a good relationship by the way they conversed effortlessly.
“Claudia, you're much more beautiful than you were in the photo I saw. Don't even ask me about the photo my mother took of you a few days ago!"
Carolina's major was broadcasting and hosting. It suited her lively and talkative personality perfectly.
Claudia blushed throughout the entire conversation as she listened to the flattery.
“Thank you, but that's enough with the compliments, Carolina."
As Carolina complimented Claudia, Bennett noticed her flushed ear. He winked at Carolina and said, "She's shy and modest."
After playfully poking her tongue at Bennett, Carolina fetched Claudia a pair of indoor slippers.
However, Claudia hastily took them from her and insisted, “It's okay, Carolina. I can manage on my own."
"Oh, your voice is so lovely. Even your calling my name sounds sweet." Feeling ashamed, Claudia put on the slippers and followed Bennett into the dining room.
Bennett's aunt and uncle were in the kitchen. Carolina Looked at Claudia and asked, "Would you Like some tea?"
"Yes, thank you."
She picked up the cup of tea Carolina poured for her and had a sip. Shortly after, a young man about the same age as Carolina came downstairs.
“Bennett! It's great to see you!"
The boy's eyes Lit up when he saw Bennett.
Carolina playfully slapped her brother's shoulder and said, "Say hello to our sister-in-law."
The boy looked sheepish as he introduced himself to Claudia, saying, "It's nice to meet you, Claudia. I'm Mario Hinks, Carolina's older brother.”
“Older brother! Bah! You don't act that way!”
Carolina slapped Mario again. He frowned, rubbing his shoulder, and protested. "Are you sure you're a woman?” he teased.
“Who would dare be your boyfriend with how rough you are? Look at our sister-in-law!" Claudia's eyes widened in surprise, and she was left speechless. Carolina muttered, "Please go ahead. Don't mind us."
The siblings continued to quarrel until Bennett's aunt emerged from the kitchen, wearing an apron and holding a scallion.
Frowning, she scolded, “What are you two arguing about? You'll scare your sister-in-law away
Claudia blinked shyly and said, “Hello, Aunt Alessandra." Alessandra reassured Claudia, “Just make yourself at home. Don't be nervous. We are cooking the last dish."
