Chapter: 71
“Ha-ha-ha, you're spending Late hours at Bennett's place. Anthony must be seething."
“With Anthony outside the house, are you planning to spend the night at Bennett's? Oh, I'm sorry. I should say that it's your house. Since you two are now married, the property belongs to both of you as your conjugal home!"
"Cece, you truly outdid yourself this time! I'm genuinely impressed Bennett is a good catch. Don't let go of him!"
“However, hold off on getting pregnant. Remember to use protection.
That's it for now, I will leave you to your romantic night!"
Upon seeing the messages, Claudia's hand quivered, and her phone Slipped onto the bed before hitting the floor with a thud.
Just then, the bathroom door swung open.
Claudia lifted her gaze and spotted Bennett, freshly bathed and clad in a bathrobe, radiating a gentle scent.
His hair was moist, with droplets clinging to a strand above his forehead, giving him a tender look. The water from his wet hair trickled down his face, gathered at his chin, and then descended onto his chest, following the path of his muscles
Bennett, fresh from the shower, stood out, his fair skin contrasting against his black robe.
Staring at the droplet, Claudia found herself entranced for a moment.
Snapping back to reality, she averted her eyes and stammered, “Mr. Dreskin, we need to talk."
Bennett nonchalantly dried his hair with a towel before tossing it into the laundry basket.
Casting her a glance, he strolled to the wine cabinet, selected two glasses with his slender fingers, and with his right hand, chose a bottle of wine. “Would you Like some? It might help you relax and sleep better."
Claudia didn't decline. “Okay. Thanks.”
When she accepted the glass, her fingers lightly brushed against his.
His cool touch sent a shiver through her. Claudia quickly bowed her head and took a sip of the red wine.
She hoped that the red wine would grant her the courage she needed.
Bennett placed his glass on a nearby table, pulled a chair before Claudia, and settled into it. Stretching his legs at ease, he fixed his gaze onto her. "What would you Like to talk about?"
Freshly showered, the man exuded a crisp refreshing scent. Despite the chill in the room, Claudia could feel a flush creeping onto her cheeks.
The red wine she'd just tasted was full-bodied and left a rich aroma in her mouth. It was a fine vintage.
Claudia bit her lip and straightened slightly. "I believe you understand why I chose to marry you.“
