Chapter: 748
Joann pulled out her phone to contact the authorities.
The driver of the Maserati turned to Claudia and asked, "Who are you?" Claudia ignored her. She had no intention of engaging with such an irrational individual. Using her phone, she booked a cab to pick her up.
The two cars had been in the middle of the road for ten minutes already, creating a traffic jam. The drivers behind them were getting impatient and blowing their horns. Claudia urged the driver to start the car and pull over to the side of the road, but the driver of the Maserati stopped them. "What do you think you're doing? Are you planning to run away?”
The woman tried to grab her, but Claudia swatted her hand away. "The police will be here soon. It's rush hour right now, and our cars are parked in the middle of the road. Can't you see that we're causing a traffic jam?"
The cars behind the Maserati continued to honk at it. The woman glared at Claudia before turning around. "Why are you fucking honking at me? You fucking morons!"
She was unprepared for the immediate backlash from the other drivers.
“That woman is being unreasonable! She said it was our fault for suddenly braking, but there was a red light ahead, so of course, we'd stop. We'd get run over by the cars from the other intersection if we didn't," Joann complained to Claudia, having finished calling the police.
Claudia's lips curled downward in displeasure.
“Don't try to reason with her again. She won't listen to you."
“Yeah, I know.”
Joann looked at her watch and grimaced.
“You're going to be late! What would they think if you showed up late the first time you went there? They might think that you're not taking this seriously."
To ease Joann's concerns, Claudia held her phone up. "Don't worry. I've booked a cab."
"Great!"
Joann let out a sigh of relief.
“You go there first. I'll go find you once I've dealt with this matter."
Claudia nodded.
“Sounds good."
That was also what she was thinking.
However, because it was rush hour, the cab she booked arrived late. Therefore, she arrived Late in the studio as well.
The moment the car halted, Claudia quickly unbuckled her seat belt, dashed out of the car, and sprinted into the building.
At the entrance, Trudy's assistant was on standby, calling out, “Miss Marshall, over here!"
Arriving somewhat embarrassed and out of breath, Claudia approached her, apologizing, “I'm sorry, we had a minor collision during the drive!"
“Don't worry about it! Little mishaps are a common occurrence during rush hours. Are you hurt?" Trudy's helper inquired in a respectful manner.
