Chapter: 773
As for what happened just now, Maleah didn't bring it up again.

On the other hand, Claudia and Aurora were in high spirits today. Who wouldn't be delighted to receive three hundred and eighty thousand dollars for free?

Following a joyful dinner, they topped off their day with a movie, reveling in their delightful mood.

While Claudia had intended to drop Aurora off at her place, Aurora insisted it was too late and didn't want to inconvenience her friend further, opting for a taxi instead.

Claudia had to pull over to the side of the road and watch as Aurora got into a taxi. Only after Aurora had left did Claudia continue driving on the main road, heading back home.

It was 9:30 in the evening, and there was a moderate amount of traffic on the road.

Her Maserati attracted attention easily, and at every intersection she found herself approached by fellow drivers striking up conversations through their open windows.

Growing annoyed, Claudia decided to shut her convertible roof. Unexpectedly, her car was hailed to a stop by an individual on the scarcely trafficked road. On instinct, she dialed the emergency number, 911, before cautiously lowering her window to address the stranger leaning in, inquiring, "Yes?"

The area was not frequented by many vehicles, raising Claudia's suspicions towards the man's intentions.

Even though she was enjoying a pleasant evening, her disposition towards lending a hand was non-existent at this point.

With her car brought to an unwanted halt, she regarded the man with a visibly unwelcoming expression.

Gustavo Green hadn't anticipated that the person he would end up flagging down would be such a beautiful Lady.

Her cold expression made him somewhat uneasy, and a hint of embarrassment fluttered in his chest.

Yet, with his friend groaning in agony in the car, Gustavo had no option but to muster his bravery and explain, “I apologize. I'm genuinely not a bad guy. My friend here has a severe stomachache, and unluckily, our car just malfunctioned. Could you possibly help us in getting him to a hospital nearby?"

Claudia's brows knit together in concern as she instructed, "If you head down this road, turn right, and then proceed another 200 meters, you'll find a hospital there."

To Gustavo, rejection wasn't what he had been expecting. He was also surprised that a hospital was nearer than he had expected.

“Honestly, we're not from Linmarsh and are unfamiliar with the city! We assumed the hospital was quite far away, so we sought your help! Still, could you please Lend us a hand?"

Claudia eyed the stranded car briefly, identifying it as a Maybach, giving the impression that they were not Lacking financially.

However, considering it was late at night and she was a woman on her own, this situation didn't seem safe no matter how she looked at it.

Gustavo could tell that she wasn't entirely convinced yet, so he persisted, "Please, consider! Isn't it irresponsible to not Lend a hand when someone is evidently unwell and needs medical attention? Here. You can have my ID, my wallet, whatever you need, as a promise of my honest intentions, alright?"

In the midst of speaking, he sprinted back towards the car, hastily opening the door to retrieve his ID. Returning to Claudia, he held it out to her, saying, “You would be doing us a huge favor by helping transport my friend to the hospital. I can get there on my own. He's really in a lot of pain right now. I'm worried there might be internal bleeding. Miss, could you help us in this crisis? Please, look at my friend. He's really suffering and poses no threat to you, see?”

Claudia looked into the car. In the dim Lighting, she saw a man in an expensive suit slouched in the passenger seat, and the flickering Light revealed his furrowed brow and an unhealthy pallor on his lips, even from a distance of seven to eight meters.

It seemed that he really wasn't feeling well.

Deep in thought, Claudia considered her options.
