Chapter: 776
He remembered that the woman in the driver's seat was exuding a fresh floral scent that was both pleasant and mysteriously comforting.
Gustavo snapped a photo and shared it in the group chat. Then, he returned his attention to Xavier and said, “That woman was really pretty, though. There weren't many of your exes who were as good-looking as she was.”
Even Gustavo, a man who had been exposed to practically everything, found Claudia attractive.
Xavier's eyes flickered awake, and he looked at him discontentedly.
“Aren't you going to take me to see a doctor?”
Gustavo's eyes widened at the reminder. "Oh, yeah. I almost forgot.”
Xavier pursed his Lips and stared at the ceiling, recalling the woman's profile.
Gustavo was right. She was much more attractive than most of his ex-girlfriends.
However, Xavier had no intention of pursuing her. She might be pretty, but they had just met, and it was nothing but a chance encounter.
He lowered her gaze and tried to relax himself.
It was already ten past ten when Claudia arrived home. She took her shoes off and put on a pair of slippers before making a video call to Bennett.
Bennett answered the phone immediately. When the call connected, he asked, "Did you just arrive home?"
"Yeah."
She went over to the kitchen island, filled a glass with warm water, and drank it.
Bennett's Adam's apple rolled up and down as he studied Claudia's lips over the screen. "Did something happen on your way home?"
Claudia looked at the screen, only to avert her gaze as soon as she did. "Yeah, but it's just a small accident."
She did not want Bennett to know what happened earlier. He might think she was too kind-hearted.
Truthfully, she was just forced to stop the car.
However, Bennett would worry if he found out about that.
Claudia hung her head low and bit the rim of the glass, her Lashes fluttering.
Bennett smiled cryptically.
“What exactly happened?”
Even though they were not in the same room, Claudia found herself squirming under Bennett's watchful gaze. In the end, she admitted, "On my way home, I ran into someone suffering from acute stomach problems."
“Did you help them?"
