Chapter: 795
Marcia, who had just finished preparing some snacks, smiled when she saw Claudia and asked her if she wanted to have some refreshments.
It was already three o'clock in the afternoon. The noodles they had for lunch had already been digested.
Claudia nodded in response.
“Hold on. I'LL get some food for you right away.”
“Take your time."
Claudia drank some water while she waited. A couple of minutes later, Marcia came back with a plate of sliced cake and a cup of milk tea.
“Thank you, Marcia."
Claudia ate the dessert slowly. Several minutes passed, but Bennett still had not shown up.
September in Linmarsh was still very warm, especially in the afternoon. Maybe Bennett had taken refuge from the heat at the swimming pool. With that in mind, Claudia finished her cake and headed to the swimming pool.
The water in the pool glistened in the direct sunlight. There was no one around the area, and the lounge area was empty.
Claudia blinked before she decided to stop looking for Bennett.
The man was probably busy with work at the moment.
Meanwhile, in the study, Bennett was currently browsing the files Jackson had sent him on the computer. They were not work-related files, though. It was information regarding Gustavo, the man who put himself in the middle of the road to stop Claudia's car last night.
Once he was done, he got up from his seat, shut the computer down, and left the study for the master bedroom.
Claudia was making her way to the piano room on the second floor when she bumped into Bennett.
“Are you done with work?"
Bennett met her gaze and nodded.
“Are you going to practice the piano?”
“Yes. Marcia prepared snacks. Do you want to have some? There are cakes and cookies in the kitchen."
Bennett shook his head. "I'll go with you to the piano room and accompany you for a while.”
"Great!"
That was exactly what she wanted.
In her enthusiasm, Claudia's voice rose in pitch.
Was she really that happy?
