Chapter: 804
Claudia was pretty sure she and Bennett had never met each other before the car accident.
The Marshall family wasn't a prominent one in Linmarsh, and Jace was not even the kind of person who liked to mingle, and his daughter Claudia took it from her. He probably didn't know Bennett either before his daughter married the man despite both being businessmen.
How could she be Bennett's special one?
However, the AR195 that Bennett bought was indeed in her possession. Perhaps Kayla was fabricating the story about Bennett having someone special in his heart. It was possible that Bennett didn't even know who CC really was but simply admired her skills, and therefore the gift.
The more Claudia thought about it, the more she felt this possibility could be so.
When she was about to reply to Amalia, her phone screen lit up again. Amalia sent another message. "CC, have you seen my message?”
“Yes, I saw it. Did he say anything?" replied Claudia. Amalia responded. "He didn't say much, just hoped that you'd Like it."
Claudia pursed her lips, thinking for a few seconds, and then typed a reply. "Accept it and say thank you to him on my behalf."
"Well, are you going to participate in this competition?" asked Amalia. Claudia immediately typed, "No," but then deleted the message before sending it. After hesitating for a while, she replied, "I declined their invitation a few days ago, but they said they would reserve a place for me to sign up. Could you contact them for me and tell them that I've decided to take part in the competition?"
After sending the message, Claudia pondered for a moment before adding.
“By the way, I might remove my mask this time."
Amalia's response was swift, "OMG! Seriously? Are you going to reveal your face? I heard they invited a ton of media this time. What about Mr. Dreskin? Won't he find out after this?"
Feeling embarrassed, Claudia replied, “Hiding it forever may not have been a good idea.”
Amalia was eager for Claudia to reveal her face.
Claudia had maintained anonymity, never revealing her face during the numerous competitions over the years, which had led to the circulation of many negative rumors about her. Despite this, they had no choice but to endure the gossip.
Amalia had faithfully served as Claudia's assistant for six years. She had always sympathized with the unfounded rumors and slander Claudia had endured and hoped that one day, Claudia would have the opportunity to set the record straight.
However, Amalia also understood that Claudia's interest in motor boating was merely a hobby, and she didn't expect anything more from it. That was probably why Claudia never bother with those gossips around her.
Now that Claudia had made her decision to make a move, how could Amalia possibly object?
Once the legendary CC removed her mask, she was sure to become a viral sensation.
Anxious that Claudia might change her mind, Amalia promptly responded, “I'll take care of it right away! I will also do my utmost to dispel all those unpleasant rumors from before!"
In her second year on the motorboat racing scene, since Claudia had been reluctant to reveal her true looks, it sparkled a series of nasty rumors.
The derogatory claims, calling her ugly and lacking the courage to reveal her face, were mere petty insults.
A more absurd theory had circulated that Claudia was actually a man, unsuccessful in male contests, trying to gain recognition in the women's competitions.
The fear of exposure and backlash supposedly kept her away from public appearances.
