Chapter: 823
“Yes, it is indeed wonderful. It's so full this evening!"
Bennett fixed his gaze on her, articulating thoughtfully, “I wish to admire the moon alongside you, Mrs. Dreskin."
Caught somewhat off guard but feeling joyous, she readily agreed, “Alright !"
Indeed, the moon was spectacular that night, and the weather was favorable. The clouds were faint while a gentle wind fluttered by. It was the perfect night for moon-gazing
Yet she couldn't ignore the fact that she had spent the entire day maneuvering a motorboat. Even after freshening up before her return, she felt a bit sweaty.
“May I freshen up with a shower first?"
“Of course."
His dark eyes briefly lingered on the corner of her lips before he consented, guiding her gently into the residence.
Upon entering, Bennett relaxed his hold on her. Glancing back, she watched as he moved to retrieve a glass of water from the kitchen. Realizing she had a moment, she Loosened the strap of her backpack and scampered upstairs.
She headed straight for the cloakroom, grabbed a set of pajamas, and entered the bathroom, eager for the refreshing shower awaiting her.
After washing her hair, she took her time in the bathroom to dry it before heading out.
When she opened the bathroom door, Claudia realized Bennett wasn't around.
She moved toward the dresser, grabbing a bottle of moisturizer. Pouring a small amount into her hands, she smoothed it over her face before heading out.
There was no one outside.
Could he be in the garden?
As Claudia exited the room, her eyes landed on a figure stationed at the balcony.
The person wore a flowing white shirt, billowing softly in the wind Observing Bennett's back, Claudia's mind echoed with the words he voiced just thirty minutes earlier downstairs.
“The moon seems somewhat lovely tonight.”
"I wish to admire the moon alongside you, Mrs. Dreskin."
It was actually not about the moon, and he was just missing her
But Claudia didn't seem to notice it.
Claudia approached Bennett and embraced him gently from behind.
“Bennett,” she murmured.
Laying her head on his broad shoulders, she added, "I missed you today."
