Chapter: 834
Aurora's expression was Less than welcoming, but Kayla pressed on.

“I didn't mean to intrude, it's just..." Her words trailed off as the big screen zoomed in on CC. "You see, CC was Townsend's first love. I thought Miss Marshall might be curious and want to see for herself.”

Aurora couldn't help but roll her eyes.

“Who's so obsessed that they'd spend all their time tracking their spouse's exes? Besides, everyone has a past. Claudia has an ex-boyfriend too, you know. Don't you have a past, Miss Bryant?"

Kayla tightened her lips. "Miss Haywood, you've misunderstood. I was simply asking. I'LL leave you to enjoy the race."

“Everyone is engrossed in the competition, and I suggest you do the same, Miss Bryant. You said CC was Bennett's first love? Then perhaps you should focus on her performance and consider why Mr. Dreskin's old flame is so exceptional, while you...”

Aurora left her sentence hanging, but the pointed look she gave Kayla spoke volumes.

Visibly unsettled, Kayla didn't utter another word. She turned and walked away, her expression icy.

What was there to be so smug about?

Kayla wondered, checking her watch. Only about half an hour left in the competition for this group.

Back in her seat, Kayla couldn't help but regret her timing.

Claudia's absence dulled her enthusiasm for the event.

Meanwhile, Claudia had already distanced herself from any competitors who had tried to outmaneuver her.

Thirty minutes later, the first round concluded. As predicted, CC clinched first place, completing the race in 56 minutes and 33 seconds.

Upon seeing this, both Aurora and Amalia couldn't contain themselves and leapt to their feet, cheering wildly.

This was Duncan's first motorboat race experience and he found it unexpectedly captivating.

Upon hearing CC's victory, he glanced over at Bennett. "Incredible. Your old flame just clinched first place."

He paused for a moment and added, "Still, Let's not forget you have a wife now, so whatever you had with CC is old news."

Bennett shot him a look of disdain. "Stop talking nonsense.”

“Tut-tut."

Unfazed, Duncan took out his phone and began recording a video. He first captured Bennett's expression, and then panned over to the big screen and eventually swept over the audience.

Saving the video, he waved his phone teasingly at Bennett.

“This is going in the group chat. Better be nice to me, or I'll send it straight to Claudia. And if you two ever get divorced, I'll personally release the video!"

Bennett just sneered, unwilling to engage any further.
