Chapter: 856
Bennett gently tapped her forehead and remarked, “Be careful, Mrs.
Dreskin."
With her cheeks flushed, she lowered her gaze and murmured, "I understand."
Why did Bennett seem so unfazed, especially after their intimate moment in public? As if reading her thoughts, Bennett chuckled.
“Our kiss was perfectly legal. Nothing to worry about."
Claudia looked up to meet his dark, smiling eyes and replied, "Such behavior doesn't exactly set a good example for young people.
After a beat, Bennett conceded, "You make a valid point, Mrs. Dreskin." He hadn't expected her to bring social ethics into the conversation. How intriguing!
No longer wanting to dwell on the topic, Claudia searched for a change of subject. Suddenly, she hit upon something crucial. "Hold on a second!"
She came to a halt and turned to face him.
“Bennett, did you always know that I am CC?"
Adjusting the umbrella in his hand to keep her from the sun, he posed the question right back at her.
“What's your guess, Mrs. Dreskin?” Disbelief washed over her face. "When did you find out?"
So that's why! She thought.
It explained the impromptu motorboat adventure!
Bennett continued to dodge a direct answer.
“Take a guess, Mrs.
Dreskin. If you're correct, there might be a reward involved."
Considering their earlier ‘gift exchange’, Claudia's cheeks flushed anew. She averted her gaze.
“Did you know before or after we got married?”
Bennett dropped the ambiguity this time. "Before."
Eyes widening, Claudia pressed, "So, you've known about me for quite some time then?"
His smile broadened in response.
Bennett gave Claudia a smile but kept silent.
Claudia blinked and suddenly recalled Kayla's words.
