Chapter: 871
“But didn't you mention how tired you are?"
With that, he stood up and made his way to the restroom.
Gripping the water bottle rim between her teeth, Claudia spaced out for a brief period, the recent Line message from Aurora resurfacing in her mind.
Reaching for her phone once more, she navigated to the conversation with Aurora on the Line app.
Ten minutes ago, Aurora had responded, urging, “Check Twitter." She had included a screenshot as well. Puzzled, Claudia opened Twitter, discovering a new tweet from Bennett.
His identity as the Segarine Group's chairman alone was enough to catch everyone's attention. The Segarine Group's official account also forwarded his post to make it trend even more.
Aurora's screenshot showed it before the topic had broken into the top ten hottest searches.
Claudia checked, and the words “Bennett, Segarine Group Chairman" had already climbed to the 7th position among the top ten trending topics.
Upon seeing it, her eyes were drawn to Bennett's heartfelt tweet, “Congratulations to Mrs. Dreskin, my champion forever."
Beneath the affectionate words was a photograph of her, trophy in hand and engaged in conversation on the stage. She couldn't pinpoint when he had snapped it.
Torn between a smile and her initial hesitation, Claudia eventually let a happy grin win out after only a couple of seconds
Throughout the day, she had remained indifferent to the buzz on social media, yet this tweet compelled her to engage.
Logging into her Twitter account, she was immediately bombarded with a flood of direct messages, causing her phone to temporarily freeze. After a two-minute wait, Claudia finally managed to log in.
Thirty seconds later.
Claudia posted a tweet tagging Bennett, expressing, “Thank you for being there for me today, Mr. Dreksin." At the end of her tweet, she included a rose and a kiss emoji.
Not long after she tweeted, a notification popped up, Aurora messaging, “I can't take this PDA anymore."
Despite feeling genuinely happy for her friend, Aurora also couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as she took it all in.
Perhaps it was their frequent public displays of affection that led Claudia to be somewhat composed when she saw Aurora's message.
“You'll adapt. Good night," she even typed back.
Aurora's reply came swiftly.
“Sure, I guess... Good night!"
Right then, Bennett stepped out of the bathroom. "The bath will be ready in about five minutes."
“Thank you," Claudia said, offering a nod.
Thoughts of Bennett's earlier tweet crossed her mind.
