Chapter: 878
Ah, his little bunny was a truly innocent enigma. Fortunately, he was already married to her.
Claudia slept deeply, her body worn out from the day's activities. The fatigue made her yearn for rest, and she welcomed the slumber that overtook her.
The following morning, waking up was a struggle.
In her half-awake state, she heard Bennett on the phone.
Rubbing her eyes, Claudia opened them to see the morning sun filtering in through the curtains, casting a singular beam of light that seemed to spotlight Bennett.
After watching him for a few moments, she slowly sat up.
Eventually, Bennett ended his phone call.
He turned and noticed her sitting on the bed.
“Did I wake you up?" he inquired, walking toward her
Claudia shook her head, her gaze momentarily lingering on his Adam's apple.
Her thoughts drifted back to the day he had come to fetch her from her home, three months ago.
Snapping out of her reverie, she inquired, "What time is it? When are we leaving?"
Her voice was slightly hoarse from sleep, and her throat felt dry. Bennett picked up a thermos and offered it to her.
“Don't worry, have some water. It's warm," he said.
Claudia moistened her parched lips and accepted the thermos, taking a sip of water. Then she looked up at him, curiosity filling her eyes, and asked, "Where did this thermos come from?"
“I requested it from hotel staff," Bennett responded. Claudia's eyes twinkled. "Is this because I mentioned the bottled water was too cold yesterday?”
"Yes," Bennett admitted. Upon hearing his confirmation, Claudia's smile broadened even more. "I'LL go freshen up now," she announced.
With that, she sprang off the bed and headed into the bathroom, her slippers softly padding against the floor.
Watching her cheerful exit, Bennett felt a warmth spread through him. The smile in his eyes deepened, making them shine even brighter.
After brushing her teeth, Claudia returned just as the hotel's breakfast was served.
She applied some moisturizer on her face and sat next to Bennett.
The sunshine streamed in as they opened the curtains, warming the entire room.
When Claudia took a spoon from Bennett's hand, their fingers brushed against each other. The warmth took her back to the previous night, hugging Bennett in a half-awake state.
Curious and innocent, she looked at him and asked, "Bennett, why did you take a cold shower Last night?”
